Fitness coaching

Most social media influencers post seemingly useful advice, but leave it confusing so that you need their help, and misleading to generate engagement. Steroids and peptides are common and result in unrealistic expectations. Media outlets need views to sell ads. They’ll post awful misleading advice to keep you coming back. Doctors are usually not well versed in healthy lifestyle and nutrition. They may prescribe peptides like Ozempic but don’t give you the proper guidance to make sure you lose weight in a healthy, and lasting way.

I got tired of the online bullshit and during my 2024-2025 sabbatical, decided to dig in deep, took a personal trainer course and graduated in 2025.

I learned about all the different diets, exercises and workouts, tips and tricks. While there are some key principles, ultimately what works for one person is different than for someone else.

Aggressive dieting that relies on willpower will exhaust you. It’s no way to live. You’ll give up and regain the weight. Taking drugs without a supporting strategy means losing your most important tissue (muscle mass) and regaining the weight when you stop the injections.

Making a lasting improvement to your health results in:

  • better body composition, reducing the odds of many modern diseases.
  • bone strength: avoid breaking a hip or other important bones during your retirement.
  • better mental well-being.
  • general fitness: if you like to be active and not hurt yourself.

And it can only be done in a way that integrates pleasantly with your life:

  • making small adjustments to the foods you enjoy eating.
  • introducing new foods that are healthy and delicious.
  • developing a few habits.
  • optional: adding a basic amount of exercise that you enjoy.
  • optional: for highly driven individuals, we can look into optimization of workout programs.

My motto: “A good diet is a yummy diet!”

My main occupation is in startups and software engineering, but I reserve a few hours each week to help a few people on their fitness/health journey. If you want coaching to set you up to live a longer, healthier life, send me an email to [email protected]

Here are pictures of my progress in 2 years, and some of the reasons why I decided to get in better shape. Note that fitness is personal to everyone. To me, it means getting fitter in a gradual sustainable way, while remaining relatively lightweight because I train for mountain sports where being light is an advantage.
